John Lundstram's name was once the soundtrack to Seville for Rangers supporters.

The Ibrox midfielder had a chant - to the tune of Berlinda Carlisle's Heaven is a Place on Earth - take over the Rangers support on the road to the Europa League final last year.

Renditions from the Rangers faithful somewhat dwindled as Lundstram's spot in the Ibrox pecking order slipped under Michael Beale.

However, now as Rangers head to Seville once more - this time for a crucial Europa League group stage encounter with Real Betis - Lundstram's name is back on supporters' lips.

"It's better than getting called crap, isn't it?" joked Lundstram of his Ibrox anthem.

"I love playing at Ibrox and the fans are on my side, it's the best feeling in the world. It's down to me to make them sing that.

"I did notice [the chant during the win over Sparta Prague in Novermber], I hadn't heard it for a while!

"It was nice and I just want to repay them. We have had some good times together and some tough times and they've stuck by me."

There's a noticeable difference in Lundstram's performances under Philippe Clement with the midfielder back enjoying his football after a testing time as a rotation option.

"I am enjoying it," said the 29-year-old. "Sometimes you do just need a bit of love sometimes maybe.

"Under the old gaffer, I wasn't maybe first choice and I was in and out and he did like to rotate a lot.

"Just at the minute, he is picking me because I am probably playing well. That's the be all and end all.

"I'm sure Michael would have picked me if I was playing well, it's just one of those things.

"Thankfully, I have got into a good run of form now and I just want to continue it really."

Lundstram knows this week - with matches against Dundee, Real Betis and the Viaplay Cup final against Aberdeen - could be pivotal in Rangers' season.

And he is in doubt of the responsibility of the players to bring past successes into the present.

On the need for silverware at Rangers, Lundstram commented: "We all know that. We share the frustrations when we don't win and when we do win.

"We know what this club is based upon and its success in the past is what we need to bring to the present.

"We all know that and I know that. We are really working hard to do so."

While Lundstram is in little doubt over his responsibility at Rangers, the Ibrox midfielder refused to be drawn on his future at the club with his contract up in the summer.

Pushed on whether dialogue over a new deal has begun, Lundstram stated: "That's just between me and the club. It's personal between me and the club so I'd rather keep it at that."
