Abdallah Sima has been completely left out of the Senegal squad to face Cameroon.

The Rangers forward is currently away with the national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, he won't play any part of tonight's match having not been included in the matchday squad.

Sima had been included as an option from the bench in Senegal's first match against Gambia on Monday.

But the on-loan Brighton talent did not make an appearance as he remained on the bench during the 3-0 win.

Now, in a curious twist, Sima has been completely left out of the squad taking on Cameroon.

It's unclear why Sima has not at least made the bench for the match.

Sima is a major absentee for Rangers during the AFCON as he will miss a number of matches due to international commitments.

And should Senegal continue to progress in the tournament then it will have a knock-on effect on Sima's return timeline to Scottish domestic action.

Senegal play Guinea in their final group stage match on Tuesday, January 23.
