Philippe Clement has confirmed Dujon Sterling has picked up an injury.

The Rangers defender - recently played in midfield - is unavailable with a "small injury".

Clement confirmed the selection issue ahead of kick-off in the Scottish Cup against Dumbarton with Kieran Dowell also out with a fitness problem.

Speaking to Viaplay ahead of kick-off, Clement said: "Nico [Raskin] is good on the ball, he has also good distance shots but he is also coming out of injury so we want to give him minutes.

"Kieran Dowell got injured. Dujon Sterling also small injury, not too bad but also not available for the midfield so choices are less big there.

"Nico is doing well after his injury, training camp was really well and he is getting minutes now to improve his level again."

And Clement insisted the decision to play Robby McCrorie was not purely on the basis of giving Jack Butland a rest.

He added: "No. Not giving a rest but giving Robby experience with the rest of the guys.

"We have been really happy with Jack, that is really clear for everybody. He is in a good way.

"Robby is also good in training and you need to give him experience with the other guys that if the moment comes, I hope not that Jack gets injured, that Robby is ready."
