Former Rangers striker Cedric Itten has revealed he's been inundated with requests for tickets for Switzerland's Euro 2024 campaign...from the Tartan Army.

Itten returned to his homeland in the summer of 2022 in a £1.5 million move to Young Boys. He scored just six league goals for Rangers in 33 appearances, although only eight of those were starts.

But his career has gone from strength to strength in the Swiss Super League where he boasts an impressive record of 23 goals in just 25 league starts, which earned him an international recall.

He's recovered from a torn ligament in his foot earlier this season and is set to return to action and is almost certain to be a part of the Swiss squad for the Euros, where they play Scotland in the second game of the group in Cologne.

And he's suddenly received plenty of interest from Scotland.

He said: "My Scottish friends are already euphoric about the Euros!

"It's very special for me because I played at Rangers and at Greuther Furth and we are playing both Scotland and Germany.

"After the draw, I received a lot of messages, mostly from Scotland.

"Many friends and former teammates texted me about the draw.

"But most wanted to know if I could get them tickets!

"I’m in great shape again. My injury was supposed to be long-term, but I was back fit inside six weeks.

"I think I will be even stronger for the second half of the season."
