Andy Halliday has revealed a brutal verdict on Alfredo Morelos as he slaughtered the striker's efforts in training while he was at Rangers.

The midfielder played alongside Morelos at Ibrox and insists the Colombian was the "worst ever" at running.

Speaking on Open Goal, Halliday and former team-mate Greg Stewart exchanged tales on Morelos at Ibrox with the duo agreeing Morelos wouldn't show up for pre-season in top condition.

And, Halliday suggested Morelos' training ground troubles were down to a mixture of a lack of fitness and the wrong attitude at times.

Quizzed on why Morelos received such a harsh review by Si Ferry, who said: "But is that through lack of fitness or can't be a****?"

Halliday responded: "A bit of both."

Further discussing Morelos in Rangers training, Halliday said: "How happy were you in pre-season when you saw Alfredo Morelos, thinking that you were bad?"

New Kilmarnock signing Stewart replied: "He was f****** outrageous.

"Yet, he was a joke as well. He was that good that season."

Halliday - now at Motherwell on loan - then revealed Morelos is the worst player he has ever come across when it comes to running drills, commenting: "He is the worst I've ever seen at running."

And Halliday explained that Morelos would even end up being put into his own group for running exercises during pre-season.

"If he properly pushed himself like people do he could've done better," said Halliday.

"On the first day of pre-season at Rangers you would do a 30-15 test, and you'd be split into three groups, the best eight, the middle eight and the bottom eight.

"And then it would just be Alfredo Morelos!

"He would just be in his own group, running himself.

"I was like, how can you make him run himself? Nobody is pushing him!"
