Former Manchester United and MK Dons midfielder Luke Chadwick has revealed he only had interest from a Scottish club once in his career - but any move was scrapped after an "awful" performance.

The former Stoke and West Ham United player, 43, did have transfer interest from Rangers back in the early days of his career at Old Trafford.

The midfielder had been identified as a possible signing for Rangers having been made available for a loan away from the Premier League club.

However, Chadwick's hopes of convincing Rangers to pull the trigger on a concrete offer for a loan deal were quickly diminished.

On his TikTok account, Chadwick revealed he had "an absolute Regi Blinker" - rhyming slang for a stinker - as Rangers scouts watched him in action in a reserve match.

It meant Rangers did not submit a formal offer for the player with Chadwick never making a move to Scotland during his playing career.

"It was only once when I was at Man United," said Chadwick on the question of whether he had offers to move to Scotland during his career.

"It weren't [sic] actually an offer, I was put up for loan, so allowed to go on loan.

"And the manager said that Rangers were interested and they were coming to watch me play in a reserve team game against Manchester City.

"And I had an absolute Regi Blinker. I was awful in the game and not surprisingly Rangers didn't come and sign me on loan which was a big disappointment.

"I would have loved the opportunity to play at a stadium like that for a club like that.

"But, unfortunately, it never came off. No solid offers from any Scottish clubs during my career."
