Oscar Cortes has provided a positive Rangers injury update.

The Ibrox winger - on loan from Lens - was ruled out long-term after limping off against Kilmarnock last week.

Philippe Clement had confirmed a "severe" muscle injury with discussions to take place between Rangers and Lens over the best course of treatment for the player.

The Rangers boss warned Cortes could require surgery to correct the problem as he bemoaned the "really strange" injury setback.

However, Cortes has been positive over a return to action for Rangers as he hinted having undergone successful surgery.

Posting on his personal Instagram, Cortes shared a story with followers of him smiling in his hospital bed having received treatment. And he vowed to make a comeback soon.

The winger captioned the post: "Everything was a success, thank God, we will return soon."

Clement had said of Cortes: "In one way not good that Oscar has a serious injury, so he will be out for a longer time.

"It's a really strange one with the action that he did to have a severe injury like that.

"We need to look at that in the next couple of days what to do with it, operation or not.

"Also to be in contact with Lens because we are not only deciding about that of course.

"That's a blow for him, the team, for all of us because he was doing really well."
