Nick Walsh has been appointed as the VAR official for the match between Rangers and Celtic.

The experienced referee will take his place in the booth in Clydesdale House for the powderkeg tie at Ibrox this afternoon. He will be assisted by Daniel McFarlane.

Don Robertson is the man in the middle at Ibrox for the derby fixture with assistants David Roome and Ross Macleod.

The officials will come under added scrutiny after the fallout from the Premier Sports Cup final between Rangers and Celtic.

Rangers chiefs had been left furious over the failure to award a penalty for a foul on Vaclav Cerny by Liam Scales in extra-time at Hampden.

A free-kick was awarded with no VAR intervention despite replays showing the winger's foot was on the line of the penalty area when he was fouled.

Ref chief Willie Collum deemed the incorrect decision as "unacceptable" as he admitted an error was made in the showpiece final last month.
