Club 1872 have struck an agreement with the Rangers board that will allow supporters to invest on and off the park at Ibrox as part of a new working relationship.
The Rangers Review outlined discussions between the fan organisation and new chairman Andrew Cavenagh earlier this summer.

And those conversations have now resulted in a framework that will give Club 1872 an avenue to participate in upcoming fundraising drives as well as lead the way on projects in and around Ibrox.
A statement read: “Club 1872 is pleased to formally share an outline of our new working agreement with Rangers Football Club.
“This ensures Club 1872 contributors will have an ongoing ability to invest in the club as well as a say in how Club 1872 funds are spent. Club 1872 currently has around £420,000 of funding available, split equally between two Community Interest Companies (CICs).
“Shares CIC invests directly in Rangers by purchasing shares, helping to strengthen the Club’s financial position. Projects CIC funds supporter-led initiatives that preserve our heritage, enhance the matchday experience and deliver lasting benefits for fans.
“Rangers have confirmed that Club 1872 will be invited to participate in future rounds of equity funding. These funds from Shares CIC will go directly to support the Club’s overall capital funding programme, and will not be ring-fenced to any specific project.”
Club 1872 have already identified areas where funds could be used to enhance Ibrox and the matchday experience for supporters. Those ideas include works on the John Greig Statue, the Trophy Room and the crests on the Main Stand.
Funds raised by Club 1872 will not be used for routine maintenance in and around the stadium. The shareholder group will work with the board on longer-term improvements to Ibrox and the footprint and could provide funds for initiatives that ‘reflect our shared commitment with the Club to preserve the heritage of Rangers while creating lasting benefits for supporters’.
The statement added: “We will now sit down with the Club to review these potential projects in detail, assessing estimated costs, priority order and realistic delivery timelines.
"Once this work is complete and moving forwards, proposals will be shared with contributors for consideration. Contributors will then be invited to vote on which projects should proceed, ensuring the final decisions reflect the priorities of our contributors.
“Finally, we will also shortly share details of a contributors meeting where we will talk through this agreement in detail and look forward to having members of the Rangers leadership team joining us.
“We wish to thank the board of Rangers Football Club and executive team for their consistently positive and thoughtful support during our ongoing collaboration. Additionally, a massive thank you to our contributors for their ongoing support and without which our investments over the years would not have been possible.”
