Two Rangers players included in Scotland squad selection

The national team boss has named his first selection for the World Cup qualifying campaign.

Rangers duo Liam Kelly and John Souttar have been included in the squad list for the away matches against Denmark and Belarus

Kelly made his debut for Scotland in 2023 in a friendly defeat to France, where he played 45 minutes.

He has been a feature of the goalkeeping department for the national team in recent years, but only has one cap to his name so far.

He will compete with Hearts' Zander Clark and Nottingham Forest stopper Angus Gunn for the No1 spot during the World Cup qualifiers.

For Rangers, Kelly has played once this term, in the Premier Sports Cup victory over Alloa Athletic.

Souttar has landed another call-up under Clarke as he approaches 20 caps for his country. He has played 16 times so far for Scotland.

The Ibrox defender has captained his club on numerous occasions this season when James Tavernier has not been in the starting XI.

Souttar has only missed one match under Russell Martin, the win over Alloa earlier this month.

Former Rangers kid Billy Gilmour is also a part of Clarke's squad.

Defenders: Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, Aaron Hickey, Dom Hyam, Max Johnston, Scott McKenna, Anthony Ralston, Andy Robertson, John Souttar, Kieran Tierney.

Midfielders: Ryan Christie, Lewis Ferguson, Ben Gannon Doak, Billy Gilmour, John McGinn, Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay, Lennon Miller.

Forwards: Che Adams, Kieron Bowie, Lyndon Dykes, George Hirst.
