Are you team Conrad or team Jeremiah? If you’ve been hooked by the brothers’ love triangle in Amazon Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, then you’ll be familiar with the beach house that appears in several episodes of the show.

While the characters refer to the area the house is located in as Cousins Beach, it’s a fictional place and actually filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina in the US.

Cosmopolitan shared: “Though Cousins is said to have been inspired by the Cape Cod area, in real life, a majority of the stunning beach town scenes were filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.”

The magazine added that the area is “often referred to as the "Hollywood East" or "Wilmywood",” and it has featured in other films, including the likes of Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill, Iron Man 3 and the fifth Scream movie.

The show is based on the trilogy of books, which starts with The Summer I Turned Pretty and includes It’s Not Summer Without You and We’ll Always Have Summer, written by American author Jenny Han.

Fans of the show have shared their experiences in Wilmington as they explore the filming locations on social media.

If North Carolina is a little far for your next trip, you can visit these beach houses in the UK.

The home curators at Big House Experience have shared their top properties that emulate the look and feel of the iconic Cousins beach house that has been the beating heart of the show.

The large holiday home agency said: “This curated collection of luxury homes come with their own pool and have easy access to the beach, just like Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah have in their stunning coastal retreat.”

The main characters enjoy summers at their beach house but there’s no reason why you can’t channel your inner Belly, Steven, Conrad or Jeremiah all year round.

The below properties are located in Brighton, Bognor Regis and Padstow, Cornwall.

First up is this beach house in Brighton which sleeps 12 people and boasts sea views and its own luxury spa pool.

The Cousins beach house has its own pool and is a short walk from the beach and this Brighton property is said to be able to “transport you to the fictional Cousins beach house in no time.”

Enjoy evenings under the pergola with a sunken firepit and BBQ.

The “soothing neutral colour scheme” and “seaside chic flair” is something Susannah, Conrad and Jeremiah’s mother, “would be proud of.”

Big House Experience said: “Just like Susannah designed the Cousins house, The Beach House in Padstow is designed with luxury and comfort in mind.

“Every bedroom has sea views and a balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, while the beach feels like it extends into the kitchen/dining area thanks bi-folding doors bringing the Atlantic coast right to the dining table.”
