Rangers midfielder Thelo Aasgaard has revealed Danny Rohl's 'key message' from his first few training sessions as the club's new head coach.

Rohl signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Ibrox on Monday, with his maiden game coming away to Brann in the Europa League tomorrow evening.

Ahead of the match in his native Norway, Aasgaard spoke to the media and lifted the lid on his new boss' early impact: "The key message from Danny over the past couple of days has been about keeping my calmness on the pitch to create chances," he said. "It will take a while for all of us to get used to Danny's way of playing and what he asks of us.

"It has been intense, and the demand is high."

Aasgaard scored his first goal in Rangers blue at the weekend against Dundee United, dancing past several challenges before finding the top-right corner with an emphatic effort.

A 2-2 draw hardly boosted the mood, but the 23-year-old, signed from Luton Town in the summer, is enjoying life in Glasgow. "It is an honour to be a Rangers player and wear the shirt," Aasgaard continued.

"I have enjoyed it so far. Game by game, I get more comfortable and go into my own and looking forward to getting on the pitch more.

"Getting my goal last weekend was a great feeling, especially in front of the fans.

"The past couple of days have been good with a new Head Coach, and we have to adjust to a different coach, which will take time, but we are prepared for tomorrow.

"Credit to Stevie Smith, who implemented the key foundation for us in the last game, and we are all looking forward to the game tomorrow."

Aasgaard has five Norway caps to his name. He has scored as many goals for his country, with three of those coming in an 11-1 thrashing of Moldova during the September international break.

With the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada on the horizon, Aasgaard is keeping his eyes on the prize. "For sure, it's [the World Cup] a motivation.

"Every player has their own motivations, but that, of course, is one of mine.

"I spoke about that when I signed. It was a big reason for me coming here. Playing European football, and in a really tough division where I can really show my quality. Of course, that's a big incentive for me. "
