Rohl responds to Martin O'Neill's disparaging Rangers comments

O'Neill said live on radio on Monday morning that the Ibrox club were no threat to win the Scottish Premiership.

Rohl was asked about the remarks in his press conference ahead of Rangers' game against Hibernian at Easter Road tomorrow evening: "Yes, of course we have big games ahead," he replied. "Since I've arrived I think every game was big.

"The next one is always bigger than the next one, but really my focus is on tomorrow because we know where we are at the moment and also on the table.

"If you want to climb you have to win games, you cannot miss one opportunity to win a game and this is the next job that we have to do."

The German, who secured his first win in charge of Rangers at the weekend against Kilmarnock, was then asked of O'Neill's comments can 'really light a fire' amongs his players: "I must say that today in the morning we sat here and I looked at the faces of my players and I see there is a big, big belief now," responded Rohl. "I think they feel it on the pitch.

"I have the feeling they believe at the moment also what we are doing. In the last days of course it was after a big defeat and we got a good reaction.

"I think this is also important for players and for us to see after a setback you can come back. If you want the small setback during the game was the 1-1 and we came through and then we won and fully deserved the game."
