Rangers youngster Bailey Rice is undergoing surgery today after picking up an injury in training.

The midfielder hasn't appeared in a matchday squad for his side since a 2-0 defeat at home to Roma in the Europa League at the beginning of the month.

Rice is one of six Rangers players who won't feature in tomorrow's Scottish Premiership match against Livingston at Ibrox.

Mikey Moore is out with a muscle injury, with Derek Cornelius needing to see a specialist after a knock.

Youssef Chermiti and Liam Kelly are doubts, while John Souttar will also miss the match.

"John and Mikey, I hope [will be back] at the end of December," said Rangers head coach Danny Rohl. "But it’s a muscle injury, it could be 25 days, it could be 40 days. You never know.

"Derek, at the moment, I have a little doubt that it's just four weeks, five weeks. It could be longer.

"Yeah, and Bailey, today is Bailey's surgery, it's a big one."

It remains to be seen how long Rice will be on the sidelines for.

He has featured just once for his side this season, starting in a 4-2 win over Alloa Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup before having to be withdrawn 45 minutes in through injury.
