'Nothing to suggest' Aberdeen vs Rangers will be called off

Danny Rohl's side face Aberdeen at Pittodrie in a televised league fixture with a 4.30pm kick-off.

Weather warnings for snow, ice, strong winds and very low temperatures are in effect but there has been no pitch inspection announced or update that the match may be in doubt.

The Rangers SLO has now said there is nothing to suggest the game will be called off, citing high winds and rain as the main weather issues.

A post on X read: "Nothing to suggest the game is off, we will provide updates as early as we can if this changes.

"Main weather issue is high winds and rain. Roads are free from snow, but flooding could cause travel disruption.

"Please take care on your journey and take all necessary precautions."

An Aberdeen supporter update had read: "Supporters attending Sunday’s match are advised to take note of the forecasted yellow and amber weather warnings in place across Scotland, including snow, ice, strong winds and very low temperatures.

"While extensive work is ongoing in and around Pittodrie Stadium and surrounding streets, some conditions may remain challenging, particularly earlier in the day.

"All supporters are asked to make their own personal risk assessment when travelling to and from the stadium.

"Factors to consider include individual driving experience and how safe it is to leave your local area, personal health and fitness, and the potential impact of severe cold combined with high wind gusts.

"First Bus and Stagecoach are currently operating most services, however some routes may be affected.

"Supporters are strongly encouraged to check directly with their transport provider before travelling and to allow extra time where possible.

"The Club will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide further updates should circumstances change."
