Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez was struck by an object thrown from the stands during the Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen.

The centre-back was hit by an object after celebrating Thelo Aasgaard's opening goal in the league contest at Pittodrie.

Sky Sports cameras showed items being launched towards celebrating Rangers players near the home stands on Sunday.

Then, Fernandez clutched his head and crouched down after seemingly being hit by an object.

Commentator Ian Crocker said: "Fernandez clearly hit by something there.

"Things we clearly do not need to see in Scottish football."

The incident occurred after Bojan Miovski faced fury from the home supporters on his return to Pittodrie.

The striker was targeted with a banner blast before kick-off as he took a spot on the bench for the match against his former club.

The display read: "I'd never come back to Pittodrie in a r****** shirt, I have my morals".

Then, Miovski was targeted with cups thrown from the stands as he warmed-up on the sidelines at Pittodrie.
