Danny Rohl was last night questioned on the immediate future of young Rangers talent Findlay Curtis.
It's understood that the 19-year-old is set to join Kilmarnock on loan until the end of the season.
A deal was agreed between the Scottish Premiership clubs around a fortnight ago, with Neil McCann looking to bolster his attacking options to help steer Killie clear of relegation trouble.
Part of the agreement was that Curtis would not be available to head down the M77 until after Rangers' Europa League commitments were concluded, as they did in Porto last night.
Curtis started the game, and assisted for Djeidi Gassama to head the visitors into an early lead, albeit, the Portuguese giants stormed back to win 3-1.
Curtis has been given more of an opportunity to impress in the first team in recent games, having also started the Scottish Cup tie against Annan Athletic, as well as substitute appearances against Ludogorets and Dundee.
"In general, I want to praise Findlay for the last two weeks," the 36-year-old said. "Sometimes when you speak with a player and give him some examples… I think Findlay understood my words two and a half weeks ago when we spoke very honestly about how I see him.

"Since then, he has exactly the mindset. Today he was brave, also with nice possession. I must say, for 1-0, I liked this match because we were on the front foot, won the ball high up the pitch against a team who are not easy to press.
"We make a decision in the next couple of days [about Curtis] and we also need to look at the bigger picture, it’s about gametime. It doesn’t matter how we decide; he is on the right track."
