Former Rangers assistant manager Matt Gill is back in football after landing his latest job.
The highly-rated English coach, who was brought to Ibrox by Russell Martin last summer, has gone in at West Bronwich Albion with new interim boss James Morrison, the former Scotland international.
The Baggies sacked Eric Ramsay last week and their former midfielder was put in to steady the ship.
He has now been confirmed until the end of the season, and has taken the ex-Rangers coach in with him.
A statement from the English Championship side said: “Albion can confirm Interim Head Coach James Morrison will continue to lead the men’s first team for the remainder of the season.
“The 39-year-old Baggies legend has today added highly regarded technical coach Matt Gill to his backroom staff for the Sky Bet Championship run-in.

“Gill arrives with significant experience having previously worked at a host of British clubs, including Southampton, where he assisted Russell Martin to Premier League promotion in 2024.”
They added: “Matt Gill joins James Morrison’s coaching team with important experience up and down the English Football League.
“A three-time promotion winner during his playing days with Peterborough United, Exeter and Norwich City – over a career which saw him make more than 400 appearances – Gill’s swansong at Tranmere Rovers allowed him to make the transition to the sidelines in 2014.
“Starting as an assistant coach on Merseyside, the 45-year-old returned to East Anglia as the Under-23s manager at Carrow Road before switching to local rivals Ipswich Town to join UEFA Champions League winner, Paul Lambert’s coaching setup.
“Back in senior football, Gill was named first team coach at Portman Road in 2018 – remaining with the Tractor Boys until 2021 where opportunities, first with Milton Keynes Dons and then Swansea City as technical development coach, presented themselves.
“Matt’s effectiveness with senior players was clear in his promotion to assistant head coach at the South Wales outfit in 2022 – a role he maintained at Southampton during the 23/24 campaign, helping them reach the Premier League at the end of his first term at St. Mary’s, and then Scottish top-flight side Rangers in the summer of 2025.
“And Gill will look to utilise his experiences across British football in the Baggies’ 11 remaining Sky Bet Championship matches.”
