James Tavernier has withdrawn from the Rangers squad for what should have been his final appearance at Ibrox this evening.
The Rangers Review understands the skipper was told by Danny Rohl that he would not be starting the Premiership clash with Hibernian.

It is believed that Tavernier was told he would play some part in the penultimate league fixture of the campaign and be given a chance to say farewell to the Ibrox crowd. A presentation involving John Greig was planned to mark Tavernier’s service to the club over an 11-year period.
But the 34-year-old chose to pull out of the squad rather than take his place on the bench and Dujon Sterling will start at right-back. The door remains open for Tavernier to return to the fold but he could have played his final game for the club.
Rohl addressed Tavernier’s final home match at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday morning. But the Englishman will now not say farewell after a pre-match discussion with the head coach.
“Yeah, important is, and hopefully, even in this situation, it's not the easiest one,” Rohl said yesterday. “We can create for him a great goodbye, I think he deserves it. He did a lot of things for the club, a long, long time here for our club. He loves the club and he made the decision finally. I really respect him and I think it's important that he gets a good goodbye from all of us.”
