Rangers have confirmed the arrival of Ben Godfrey from Atalanta on loan with an option to buy.
The 28-year-old defender - who moved to Italy in 2024 from Everton - made his name at Norwich and moved to Goodison Park for a fee in the region of £25million in 2020, making over 100 appearances in the Premier League.
The two-time England cap has spent time on loan at Ipswich Town, Sheffield United and Brondby in the past two seasons. It was at Brondby, during the second half of last season, that the centre-back's most consistent run of matches in the past few seasons arrived.

The Rangers Review reported on Saturday night that Godfrey had passed a medical at Ibrox ahead of becoming the side's third arrival of the summer.
While the club are likely to make fewer loan signings this season than last - when six were on their books - the loan market continues to be seen as carrying some potentially high-value moves.
Speaking at the end of last season, chairman Andrew Cavenagh explained: “We will always have loan players because there is good value. Whether the sporting value or future flexibility.”
Loan deals for defenders Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius expired at the end of last season, leaving John Souttar and Manny Fernandez as Rangers' only senior centre-back options.

Ross McCrorie has already arrived to challenge Dujon Sterling at right-back, while Lawrence Shankland moved to Ibrox from Hearts earlier this month.
“I am buzzing, I am really happy to be here. I know the size of the club so it is a massive honour to be wearing the shirt this season, and I can’t wait to get started," Godfrey said.
“I am looking forward to meeting the boys and hopefully helping this club achieve what it deserves, which is silverware and exciting times.”
Derek McInnes added, “Ben is a player who has competed at a very high level throughout his career. He’s played in the Premier League, been involved with England, and brings a lot of experience with him.
“He’s a strong, athletic defender with good qualities both on and off the ball, and we believe he can add a lot to the squad. We’re pleased to get him in, and I’m looking forward to working with him in the season ahead.”
