Birmingham City have confirmed the appointment of former Rangers set piece coach Scott Fry to their backroom team.
The Rangers Review revealed last month that Fry was set to leave the club on the eve of the new campaign. The Blues have now announced his arrival in the Midlands to join up with boss Chris Davies.
Fry was appointed as the club's first-ever set-piece specialist to work under head coach Danny Rohl last November. Fry was credited with making an immediate impact in terms of Rangers' proficiency from dead-ball situations after working with Rohl's side on the training ground but opted to the return south of the border this summer.
“I am pleased to welcome Scott to the Club,” Davies said. “He brings valuable experience in an area where we believe we can keep improving.
“Scott’s success has been built on his ability to think differently and to convey his ideas to the players in a clear way.
“This is an important addition to the team and one that we believe will make us improve and be even more competitive.”
Rangers are expected to add to Derek McInnes' staff. The former Hearts boss brought Alan Archibald and Paul Sheerin with him from Tynecastle and appointed Craig Clark following his exit from Kilmarnock.
The Rangers Review previously reported that Allan McGregor would replace Sal Bibbo as goalkeeping coach.
And on Monday we revealed that Jim McAlister was set to return to his position as kit man following positive discussions with the Ibrox hierarchy.
Those talks have been pushed by chief executive officer Jim Gillespie as Rangers continue to reshape their football operations on and off the park this summer. It is understood the move has now been ratified and McAlister will get back down to work at Auchenhowie three years on from his controversial departure from the club.

The former Morton, Hamilton and Dundee midfielder became an influential and respected figure around Rangers after working under legendary kitman Jimmy Bell following his retirement from playing. McAlister was appointed to oversee the department in the aftermath of Bell’s tragic passing in 2022 and played a leading role for the club he grew up supporting before being sacked during James Bisgrove's tenure as CEO.
Rangers will continue their preparations for the new term with a training camp in Spain. The first team squad will leave Glasgow on Friday and spend a week on the continent.
A friendly with West Ham United at Ibrox is the only confirmed pre-season friendly so far ahead of the start of the Premiership campaign away to Dundee United on Friday, July 31.
