Rangers supporters are being urged to stay patient with Derek McInnes' side as anticipation builds for the upcoming Old Firm clash.

The call comes from the Rangers Review Morning Briefing, where host Derek Clark and reporter Blair Malloy discussed the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final.

Blair acknowledged the recent disappointments but believes the team performs best when fully supported. He said: "I understand why the patience is running a bit thin. Rangers fans have been asked an awful lot of over the last five, six, 10, 15 years.

"But when you've got the manager coming out saying, 'look, try and see what we're trying to do here', I'd hope people can take that on board."

The discussion also centred around who should lead the line against Celtic, with Blair advocating for Bojan Miovski after his decisive goal against St Mirren. He said: "If you're a centre-forward and you come on and score a winner like that, I'd go for it.

"He's the best finisher Rangers have got available at the minute. He's hot, he's confident, and I'd start him."

Derek was initially inclined towards Ryan Nadiri but was convinced by the argument in favour of Miovski. He said: "You've sold Miovski to me, Blair. Get him in the team, get him starting."

The podcast also highlighted Graeme Souness' presence at Hampden, with Malloy commending the former Rangers manager's physical condition. He said: "He looks magnificent for his age.

"He was saying yesterday he's the fittest he's felt in about 30 years."

The Rangers Review team will continue their build-up throughout the weekend, with Sunday's showdown now firmly in focus as Rangers look to book their place in the semi-finals.
