Czech FA chief Pavel Nedved has revealed they are desperate to cut through red tape to allow Rangers striker Ryan Naderi to make his international debut after a frustrating hold-up.
And the former Juventus and Lazio star, turned general manager of his association, has praised the efforts of Naderi to play for the Czechs.
Naderi, 23, is eligible to play for Germany, Czech Republic and Bulgaria, but has chosen to play for the Czechs.
However, he wasn't named in new Spanish manager Santi Denia's squad for their Nations League games against England home and away, Spain and Croatia.
But Nedved has insisted he could yet be called up if they can overcome Czech bureaucracy before the games.
He said: "Ryan Naderi is definitely in our sights, I can confirm that.
"He is a player we wanted to call up.
"Unfortunately, we cannot do it yet even though he has Czech citizenship. The last administrative steps are missing. Our legal department did everything possible to successfully handle it, but so far it has not worked.

"Ryan did an awful lot for it, he really wanted it. He himself took care of the paperwork in the UK and I really appreciate the effort he has made..
"But so far, we haven't been able to get it done, either in Brno or in Prague.
"Honestly, I don't know how much of the process is missing at the moment.
"We are in contact with the family and with Ryan himself. You could see how excited he was. At the moment, it's a little disappointing for him that we didn't make it. But if we have a chance to have him join us, we will be very happy.
"I believe and hope he will be in our team soon."
