Allan McGregor: No chance with Celtic’s opening goal. Did enough to put off Maeda who headed wide in the first half but that aside he was a virtual spectator given Rangers dominance. 7

James Tavernier: Decent performance from the skipper both defensively and offensively. Dispossessed in possession on the half-hour mark but recovered to steal the ball off Jota in the penalty area. Poor couple of corners in quick succession, far too deep and was guilty of giving the ball away at points. Nodded wide from a Barisic cross late on as Rangers hunted a winner. 7

Connor Goldson: Didn’t get near enough Maeda who burst into the box and supplied the cross that Jota converted. Fired over from a Tavernier corner two minutes into the second half. A pretty comfortable afternoon though for the vice-skipper. 7

Calvin Bassey: Pretty solid showing although he gave the ball away cheaply just before the break that resulted in a glorious chance for Maeda but he headed wide. Tremendous defending to get in front of Giakoumakis following a Maeda cross but the Greek was penalised anyway for fouling the 22-year-old. Another important block just seconds later to deny a Ralston cut back. Taken out by Giakoumakis on 76 minutes that sent the Nigerian flying and he received a deserved yellow card. 8

Borna Barisic: Clumsily got in Kent’s way early on in the Celtic penalty area. Caught on his heels for Celtic’s opener as Jota nipped in ahead of him to connect to Maeda’s cross ball. Great cross at the start of the second half that Carter-Vickers nodded behind for a corner. Booked for a foul on Jota midway through the second half. Improved as the match wore on. 6

Steven Davis: Super threaded ball through for Sakala on two minutes and played well, always looking to play a forward pass. Fired over from the edge of the area following a good spell of possession from Rangers just before the hour mark before being replaced by Jack. 7

Scott Arfield: A relatively poor showing from a player who often rises to the occasion in these fixtures. Gave the ball away cheaply midway through the first half that resulted in a diving header from Jota but the Portuguese couldn’t direct it on target. Caught by a rash challenge from Ralston on 49 minutes that saw the Celtic defender receive the first booking of the game. Connected with a Wright cutback but fired at Hart as Rangers chased a winner. Replaced by Amad on 87 minutes. 5

John Lundstram: Another strong showing from the former Sheffield United man. Bossed the midfield and his passing accuracy was almost perfect. He did well to intercept a Celtic pass on the halfway line before striding forward and sending over a teasing cross across goal in the opening stages. Wonderful ball in for Kent on 12 minutes but he somehow volleyed wide with the goal at his mercy. Great ping to Kent two minutes later before the Rangers man drove forward and fired a shot at Hart. Wild ball over in a promising position on 83 minutes. 8

Joe Aribo: Started as the central man of the front three as we witnessed in the second half against Leipzig but looked every inch a midfielder playing out of position. Offered very little in an attacking sense before being replaced by Wright on 63 minutes. 5

Fashion Sakala: The Zambian looked overawed and out of his depth before rifling the Ibrox side level with a thunderous left-footed drive on 67 minutes. He started on the right-hand flank but he was often guilty of poor decision making and being careless in possession. He was snuffed out by Starfelt with ease when he bombed down the right following a mistake from the Swede, with two men to play in, he failed to play in either of them. Headed over from a Tavernier corner on 54 minutes before his stunning goal. Almost in again just moments later when he fired at Hart who tipped the ball over the bar before connecting to the resultant corner but nodded over. Rattled the post late on when one-v-one against Hart and looked distraught at failing to hit the back of the net. 7

Ryan Kent: Great touch to skin Ralston early on only for Barisic to run into him. Should’ve opened the scoring on 12 minutes when he burst in front of Ralston but volleyed wide from a Tavernier cross. Tested Hart two minutes later with a long-range strike. Wonderfully weighted ball for Sakala’s equaliser. Harshly booked for a high boot on Carter-Vickers on 77 minutes. 7

Substitutes

Scott Wright: Replaced Aribo on 63 minutes. Contributed to Rangers’ equaliser as he knocked the ball forward into Sakala before he and Kent played a neat give-and-go that ended in the Zambian firing past Hart. Taken out by Bitton who received a booking after he showed the Israeli a clean pair of heels. Great pace and cutback to Arfield on 84 minutes. 6

Ryan Jack: Replaced Davis on 63 minutes. Careless pass meant for Barisic on 80 minutes that gave away possession cheaply to Celtic. Played a great ball to Wright before his cutback to Arfield was parried by Hart into his path but he was off balance and couldn't capitalise. 5

Amad Diallo: Replaced Arfield with a few minutes remaining and had an immediate impact when he took out Abada and received a yellow card. 2
