Jon McLaughlin: An Old Firm to forget for the Rangers stopper. Question marks over the three goals conceded in an abysmal first-half showing. Caught by surprise from Abada’s early opener as were the entire Rangers defence. Got a hand to the Israeli’s effort but not enough to keep it out. May have done better for Jota’s goal on 32 minutes. Produced a top save from the Portuguese on 40 minutes to deny him with his feet but Abada fired through his legs shortly after as Celtic ran riot. Embarrassing error for Celtic's fourth as he gave the ball to Turnbull to slot home. 2

James Tavernier: Poor display from the skipper. Looked off the pace and devoid of confidence at times. Summed up his showing when he lost the ball in an advanced area just before the hour mark but simply meandered back while Davis covered at right back. 3

Connor Goldson: Like much of the Rangers defence, he was all over the place in the first half. Statue defending on 18 minutes in when Giakoumakis stole a march on him but the Greek failed to nod the ball goalwards. Dragged out of position for Jota’s goal with Sands and others ball-watching. Booked in the dying embers for a late lunge on Maeda. 3

James Sands: Great covering from a whipped ball in from Jota on 21 minutes but was nowhere to be seen for Celtic’s second. Looked uncomfortable up against the physicality of Giakoumakis. 3

Borna Barisic: Deservedly booked on 19 minutes for a mistimed challenge. Then proceeded to deliver four sensational crosses into the danger area. Colak should’ve done better when he connected to the first cross while there were no takers for the others. 4

Steven Davis: Perhaps a surprise inclusion in the starting XI but as hard as he worked he was simply swamped by the Celtic midfield. 4

Glen Kamara: Instructed to carry out a more advanced midfield role following the absence of Tom Lawrence but failed to impose himself on the game. Replaced by Wright at half time. 3

John Lundstram: Concern when the Scouser went down on 14 minutes following a collision with Giakoumakis. Brushed off the ball too easily as O’Riley looked to advance towards goal in the first half and generally had no answer as Celtic dominated the middle of the park. 4

Malik Tillman: Took up position on the right of the Rangers attacking three. Battled well and showed some neat touches at times. Great turn on the edge of the area on 19 minutes as he tried to create an angle for a shot on goal but the match passed him by at times. 4

Ryan Kent: Should’ve done better for Celtic’s opening goal when he was dispossessed on the right-hand side before the Parkhead side took an early throw-in that caught the Rangers defence by surprise and led to Abada scoring. Rangers need more, a lot more from their star man on these occasions. Offered next to nothing in an attacking sense. 3

Antonio Colak: Isolated for much of the contest. Should’ve done better when picked out by Barisic in the first half but nodded wide with the goal at his mercy. Ambitious volley from a poor Starfelt header after spotting Hart off his line, great idea but the execution was slightly off. Headed over a Tavernier corner on 37 minutes. Thankless task for the Croatian with very little support. 5

Substitutes

Scott Wright: Replaced Kamara at half time and tried to provide a bit of much-needed attacking intent down the right-hand side. Got in Morelos’ way with a ball into the box midway through the second half. Plenty of endeavour as ever but no end product. 3

Scott Arfield: Replaced Tillman on the hour mark. Blazed over the bar from a Hart kick out but it wouldn’t have counted anyway as he hadn’t cleared the penalty area. Still a van Vossen-esque miss all the same. 3

Alfredo Morelos: Replaced Colak on the hour mark. Should’ve done better with a ball into the box but got in a mix-up with Wright. Dragged a shot wide soon after. 3

Fashion Sakala: Replaced Kent on 77 minutes. 2

Ryan Jack: Replaced Lundstram on 77 minutes. 2
