With Rangers said to be one of the frontrunners for South African winger Relebohile Mofokeng, Derek spoke to renowned football scout Jacek Kulig for an in-depth insight into the teenager.

The 19-year-old has just completed his first full season as a professional for South African giants Orlando Pirates.

He netted the winning goal in stoppage time against Mamelodi Sundowns in the South African Cup final on Saturday, sparking jubilant scenes.

Mofokeng has also been called up to the national team for the first time for Bafana Bafana's World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

The Ibrox club are thought to be leading the race for the teenager who has been tracked by Red Bull Salzburg, Wolves and Al-Ahly.

He progressed through the SAFA-Transnet School of Excellence before flourishing last term.

But what sort of player can Rangers fans expect should he sign this summer?

Kulig describes Mofokeng as one of the most talented South African prospects he has seen and likened him to Rabbi Matondo but with more creativity.

"For me, he's the definition of a flamboyant winger," Kulig told the Rangers Review.

"So let's say a creative winger, a hybrid of a winger and an attacking midfielder. That's why I compare him to Neymar because Neymar is highly creative.

"Relebohile probably couldn't play as a number 10 but he's a creative player on the wing. He's not just a dribbler, he can create chances for his teammates so a really interesting player."
