TWO Premier League clubs are reportedly plotting moves for Rangers youngster Leon King.
Manchester United and Newcastle have been credited with interest in the 17-year-old central defender.
King, a product of the Rangers youth academy, was handed two run-outs for the first-team last season and is thought to be highly-rated at Ibrox.
He first played as a sub in a League Cup win over Falkirk before featuring from the bench in a 3-0 win over Livingston in May this year.
The young defender was handed a bumper professional contract by Rangers last year which runs until the summer.
And his expiring contract is reportedly sparking interest from down south as clubs line-up for a cross-border development fee only deal.
Football Insider reports Man Utd and Newcastle are both looking to begin talks with King over a move to the Premier League.
The Old Trafford side were linked with a move for King before he signed a contract with Rangers and are reportedly set to return with fresh talks for the youngster.
Both United and Newcastle would be able to discuss a pre-contract deal with King's representatives unless he extends his contract at Ibrox.
