THE referee who oversaw Scotland’s victory over the Czech Republic will handle Rangers’ European clash tomorrow evening.
Dutchman Serdar Gozubuyuk will take charge of the last-16 first leg visit of Red Star Belgrade.
Gozubuyuk has not handled a game involving a Scottish club side before but was the man in the middle when Steve Clarke’s team beat a Covid-affected Czech side 2-1 in the Nations League in 2020.
The 36-year-old has overseen three Champions League group matches so far this season, while his only involvement in the Europa League to date came last month when Porto beat Lazio 2-1.
Gozubuyuk will be supported by his countrymen at Ibrox. Joost van Zuilen and Johan Balder are the linesmen, Sander Van Der Eijk is the fourth official, while Jochem Kamphuis and Dennis Higler are the VAR team.
