CALVIN BASSEY was a picture of surprise and delight as the Ajax defender reacted to his impending Champions League return to Rangers.
The defender's new club was joined in Group A by his old team, Napoli and Liverpool.
Bassey left for the Netherlands in July after the two clubs agreed a record deal that could be worth £25m when all the clauses are met.
And the 22-year-old's huge smile, posted on social media by Ajax, spoke volumes about his thoughts on a return to the ground where he made his name.
He was a crucial part of the team that reached the Europa League final in Seville, forming an iron partnership with stalwart Connor Goldson.
And now he will surely be given a warm welcome when he returns to his old stomping ground, giving fans the chance to show the Nigerian international their appreciation for his excellent service.
