Rangers boss Michael Beale spoke to Rangers TV following the 3-0 win over Motherwell at Ibrox.

Here is everything he had to say.

Michael, how pleasing was it to get that result?

Was a pleasing result, I thought it was a frustrating performance but the two things that pleased me were the three points and another clean sheet. It’s important we start collecting them as much as we can.

The team started in the right manner tonight, a fantastic goal from Alfredo Morelos and a great cross from Borna Barisic.

As well as Adam [Devine] has done and Adam’s been outstanding in the three games, we have missed that balance of having Borna. He comes back and within 10 or 15 minutes he shows everyone what we’ve been missing, it was a fantastic cross. We started the game quite slowly, we faced a number of crosses, free kicks and corners in the first 10 or 12 minutes so it was nice to go up the other end and score with probably our first attack in the game.

A nice moment for Connor Goldson to get his first goal of the season.

Yeah, he’s important, the big one, in terms of set plays in both boxes and it was nice for him to score that. I’m expecting him to get between five or six more between now and the end of the season. Ben [Davies] has got to chip in as well. It’s important in those moments that we’re effective. Set plays have been an area where we’ve underperformed this season so it was nice to score one this evening.

How pleasing was it that the team continued in that manner in the second half and managed to get the third goal through Malik and then you were able to make some changes from there?

It was nice to rest some players and make some changes. There’s been one or two who’ve been playing who have been under the weather and maybe not 100 per cent so it was nice. It was a good finish from Malik, he’s been in fine form really in front of goal both in his goals and assists recently so I’m delighted for him. We had some honest words at half-time. It was nice to go in 2-0 up, I can’t say I was enjoying the game and tonight the big positive is the three points and then we move onto the next one.

Was it pleasing for you in terms of a defensive perspective?

I think it was nice to have that back four back together. On paper, it looks like a strong back four. It looks like it needs some work together, to be honest. It’s not played together enough this season but it’s nice to have them all fit and healthy and another clean sheet. That’s two on the bounce now for Connor and Ben, hopefully, they can keep that moving forward.

You took Alfredo off in the second half, was that precautionary?

Yeah, I believe it’s just a tight hamstring so hopefully, that’s the case. Antonio [Colak] and Kemar [Roofe] are back in training but I didn’t want to take a risk on them tonight to give them four or five more days in their legs in terms of physical work. Let’s hope Alfredo’s okay but we do have those two waiting in the wings as well.
