Allan McGregor: Resumed his place in goals following the game in Prague. Couldn’t do anything for the goal and that aside did almost nothing all afternoon. Conducted his side forward whenever they were deep in possession. An easy late hold was cheered as if a goal. 6

Nathan Patterson: Selected ahead of the Rangers captain, his pace was matched by an equally promising young full-back in Josh Doig. His final ball is not near the quality of the side’s captain and that was on show in the first, but his ball for Roofe in the second was Tavernier-esque. Drove well as momentum switched in his team’s favour, should have released Hagi inside the box but shot when the Romanian was free. 7

Connor Goldson: Reinstated at the centre of defence after missing Thursday’s match in Prague, Nisbet was free for the goal with both centre-backs under the ball. Like Balogun, dealt with a tricky strike partnership effectively, and stood up well to limit Boyle as he ran into the box in injury time. 6

Leon Balogun: After a tricky start to the season, Balogun has stepped up as the only readily available centre-back ever since his excellent Old Firm performance. He was reliable again at Ibrox, matching Martin Boyle for pace and not allowing the forward’s pace to cause much trouble. Excellent positioning throughout. 7

Borna Barisic: Was very isolated if Wright went central, and only had Morelos to hit inside the box. Had a mixed afternoon like plenty of his teammates but stepped up when it counted with an excellent delivery for the second goal. 7

John Lundstram: After his best performance yet for the club in Dundee last week, he started in place of Davis. Made excellent tackles on both flanks early on but was then out-jumped for the goal. Recovered well despite a couple of nervy moments and protected his defence well in the second period. 7

Glen Kamara: Now the ever-present in centre midfield for Rangers – was given the warmest of any applauses issued pre-match following the abuse he suffered in midweek. Helped his team to play through pressure and Hibs’ press in the first half, and was sacrificed for Roofe early in the second. 6

Joe Aribo: Playing as ever as the most advanced midfielder, he was the subject of Ryan Porteous’ red card tackle. Still struggling to find the final touch in the box at Ibrox on theme with recent performances, but did a lot well from box to box. 6

Scott Wright: Hasn’t yet managed to nail down a regular place during the absence of Ryan Kent – started brightly, bursting away to release Barisic for a cross that went close. Was also guilty of turning back instead of out on occasion. Started to trouble McGinn after the half-hour mark and consistently looked to inject pace into the attack thereafter. 6

Ianis Hagi: Didn’t impact Thursday’s game as he would have hoped upon arrival, but for a front line that has missed a final pass his inclusion was a necessity. Nearly reversed in Wright early on and had a mixed bag thereafter. Frustrated his manager twice in the opening 10 minutes of the second half for giving up possession cheaply. Drew a good save from Macey on 70 minutes. 7

Alfredo Morelos: Morelos dropping deep to link play was the only way through for Rangers against Hibs when they had 11 men. There remained an air of not quite there about his showing – despite some good interjections in possession to move his team forward. He is far more of a deep-lying forward than he was, but his header was classic Morelos - strong, intelligent and decisive. 7

Substitutes:

Kemar Roofe: Was dropped to the bench after midweek and made a quick impact of it to guide a header perfectly into the far corner. Went close on another couple of occasions. An excellent sub made by the manager, an even better impact by the player. 7

Steven Davis: A calm head in a potentially nervy final few minutes, helped his team to see out the game. 5

Juninho Bacuna: Didn’t have much of an impact but was tidy and safe in possession when needed. 5
