ANDY HALLIDAY has told of the time that the Rangers squad nearly "rioted" with Newcastle players while on a night out.
The Hearts midfielder told Open Goal about the eventful Christmas party several years ago in the north-east.
Trying to hold back his laughter, the 30-year-old revealed to Si Ferry and Kevin Kyle how Livingston ace Jason Holt was brutally knocked back by one of the Magpies' stars.
And this is how trouble nearly ensued.
Halliday explained: "We had a Christmas night out in Newcastle at Rangers.
"Our big thing at that point was Fantasy Football. It was part of the banter.
"Newcastle had played at home and Gini Wijnaldum had just score four. Wee Jason Holt had captained him.
"We're in Tup Tup at night and sure enough, Gini Wijnaldum walks in.
"Wee Holty, quietest boy in the world, said he needed to get a picture with him. 'Gini can I get a picture?'. Winjnaldum - No.
"I swear to god everyone was nearly rioting. All the boys were raging because it was wee Holty and that big Lascelles came in trying to square-go everyone.
"It proper kicked-off. Ten minutes later though, wee Holty's on the deck sleeping because he's f****** blitzed."
