RANGERS travel to Leith this evening to face Hibernian, 10 days on from their League Cup semi-final exit at the hands of the Easter Road side.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be aiming to record his third consecutive victory as Light Blues boss.

Rangers will be keen to make amends after last week’s League Cup horror show at the hands of Hibs.

Expect an entirely different team to the one that so meekly exited the competition at Hampden.

Allan McGregor should retain his place between the sticks while the back four is likely to remain the same.

It’s likely Giovanni van Bronckhorst will adopt the 4-2-3-1 formation so the likes of Glen Kamara and possibly Steven Davis will occupy these roles.

Scott Arfield could consider himself unfortunate to drop out but Davis' defensive nous may prove vital against Hibs attacking threats.

Ahead of them, Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent and possibly Fashion Sakala will support Alfredo Morelos up top given the Zambian's pace is likely to cause the Hibs backline problems.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's delight at his excellent start will ensure his side to face Hibs is largely unchanged from the team that defeated Livingston.

The defence has been impressive for the Dutchman so far, Connor Goldson error aside, and should remain unchanged.

In midfield, while Scott Arfield did little to deserve being dropped, you wonder if sacrificing third man runs for a little more defensive stability doesn't make a lot of sense.

A Davis and Kamara axis is obvious but sooner or later, the dynamism and drive of Ryan Jack surely has to become a serious option in tough away fixtures now he's fit again.

Up front, Ianis Hagi has been solid but lacks the pace to be a threat on the counter-attack. Sakala's selection will give that and also adds his Duracell bunny pressing attributes.

Predicted line-up: McGregor, Tavernier, Barisic, Goldson, Bassey, Kamara, Davis, Kent, Aribo, Sakala, Morelos.
