RANGERS travel to Lyon in their final group match in the Europa League safe in the knowledge they’ve already qualified for the knockout phase.

Both sides are expected to make several changes as a result with the Light Blues having one eye on Sunday’s Premiership encounter with Hearts at Tynecastle and Peter Bosz’s men affected by injuries.

Our writers select their Rangers XIs for the match at the Groupama Stadium.

Given the nature of the match, meaningless to the context of the group, you'd expect Giovanni van Bronckhorst to ring the changes for this one.

And that's even more certain as the Dutchman looks ahead to what is sure to be a challenging game with Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Big names like Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Ryan Kent, Glen Kamara and Ianis Hagi are likely to be rested, giving the fringe players a chance to shine.

I'd love to see Borna Barisic added to that list and Leon King thrust in at centre-back but you'd have to concede that would be pretty radical given Lyon's quality.

It's a huge chance for those yet to solidify their position under the new manager to put a case forward for their inclusion.

Van Bronckhorst has already made it clear that Ryan Jack is a big player for the months ahead and it will be important to see how he holds up when starting after such a long break from football.

It will be a fascinating game in a city where the team have a very good record, and given Lyon's own injury woes, you wouldn't put another positive result past the Ibrox men.

Predicted line-up: McLaughlin, Patterson, Barisic, Bassey, Goldson, Lundstram, Jack, Bacuna, Wright, Roofe, Morelos

Giovanni van Bronckhorst hasn’t made too many alterations to his team selection in his first four games in charge but expect that to change for this one.

With one eye on Sunday’s game at Tynecastle against Hearts, the team that takes to the field against Lyon should see several fringe players get an opportunity to impress.

Jon McLaughlin should replace Allan McGregor between the sticks for what will be only his second European match for Rangers.

The defence will not look entirely different with Nathan Patterson expected to replace James Tavernier although, given the injuries, it’s probably Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic that will make up the rest of the back four.

The midfield holding pair may comprise of John Lundstram and perhaps Steven Davis with an attacking trio of Juninho Bacuna, Scott Wright and Fashion Sakala supporting Kemar Roofe up top.

Predicted line-up: McLaughlin, Patterson, Goldson, Bassey, Barisic, Davis, Lundstram, Bacuna, Wright, Sakala, Roofe.

It’s quite the luxury to enter the final round of a European group stage having already secured qualification to the knockout stages. With rotation therefore likely it appears tomorrow evening’s game in France will offer opportunities.

Jon McLaughlin should start in goal. Allan McGregor appears the No.1 this far in the new tenure, after much chopping and changing previously. Nathan Patterson is due a start at right-back and will likely be the only alteration to that bank.

In midfield, van Bronckhorst will likely opt for two No.6s – John Lundstram and Ryan Jack. Infront of them, might it be Juninho Bacuna’s first chance to impress his new boss?

Kemar Roofe seems certain to lead the line given Alfredo Morelos’ involvement in all of van Bronckhorst’s games to this date – either side of him Fashion Sakala and Ryan Kent should feature. This being a game in which transitions are Rangers’ best method of goals, it makes sense to play the pair.

Predicted line-up: McGregor, Patterson, Goldson, Bassey, Barisic, Lundstram, Jack, Bacuna, Kent, Sakala, Roofe.
