A big game against Hearts on Sunday, how do you look ahead to that challenge?

It’s a short day. We are flying straight back to Scotland now and only have two days to prepare for the game but we are used to it because the last game only gave us two days of rest. We will do everything we can to ensure recovery and on Saturday we will also prepare tactically for Hearts which is a tough game away. I’m confident about my team and the performance we had today. Now it’s a case of resting really well and be prepared for Sunday.

Did you deserve a little bit more than just a draw?

I think we were very happy with the performance. Especially away from home in Europe it can be really tough. Today we faced a tough opponent but we were very brave when we had ball possession and we tried to play our possession game from the back and many times we had the right solutions. Overall, I’m really happy and maybe we were dominant but in the second-half we didn’t create so many chances although in the end we had some dangerous crosses. Also, Lyon had some chances. I’m very happy with the message we sent as a team. We came here not to defend but to play our game and develop our team. It’s only my fifth game in charge and I’m happy they are picking up my style of play and in that aspect, I’m very happy.

You took away your fellow Dutchman’s perfect record in the group, don’t you feel sorry about that?

I don’t feel sorry for him because I’m the coach of Rangers and want the best result for my team so I’m just happy we are both through to the next stages. I wish him all the best for the weekend against Lille, it will be an important game for him and I want him to be successful. Today was a draw but I’m rooting for him to have a good result against Lille.
