DAVID MOYES admits he was relishing a Battle of Britain showdown with Rangers in the last-16 of the Europa League.
The former Celtic player - who is manager of West Ham - says he has been impressed with the Ibrox club, especially after their 6-4 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund in the previous knockout round.
The Hammers finished top of their Europa League group earlier in the campaign, which meant they were seeded for the last-16 draw, as they were paired with tournament favourites Sevilla.
Rangers will take on Red Star Belgrade in the next round.
But Moyes admits it would've been a special occasion to meet with Rangers in the continental competition.
He said: “I did (want Rangers), because I was looking forward to the prospect of going to Rangers.
"That would be a real tough game, Rangers did brilliantly well to overcome Dortmund.
"But great credit to them for getting through against Dortmund."
