Michael Beale has provided an update on Rangers' transfer situation.

The Ibrox club are in hot pursuit of Standard Liege's Nicolas Raskin and Swansea's Morgan Whittaker.

The former has been frozen out at the Belgian outfit and is out of contract in six-months' time.

While Whittaker was recently recalled by the South Wales side, with the intention seemingly to sell the 22-year-old striker.

Todd Cantwell was secured by the Ibrox club earlier this week, as the Norwich midfielder became Beale's first signing as Gers boss.

And the Englishman is hopeful to make more additions prior to Tuesday night's deadline.

However, he has denied reports suggesting a pre-contract for either player has already been signed.

He told the media: "We already have a fantastic player in place this week in Cantwell.

"It's not true we have signed a pre-contract with anyone. We are busy working in the background.

"There's a lot of noise around one or two. With Todd it took time because we wanted the discussions to make sure it was right time for everyone."

Meanwhile, on the injury front, it's good news for the Ibrox club.

Ianis Hagi is back and could return to the squad tomorrow after over a year out with a serious knee injury.

Antonio Colak will also be in the squad, while Kemar Roofe is close to training again.

Beale added: "Hagi will be in the squad for tomorrow. It's been a year since he has played a game, I am delighted to have him back - he isn't ready yet for 90 minutes.

"Souttar just needs a little bit more time and we won't rush him back.

"Ianis is massive for us, to have him and Todd (Cantwell) is great - we feel in a really strong place with those two available, they have been great in training. It gives us a lot of variety and competition for places.

"Colak will be back in the squad for tomorrow. Ridvan will return in the coming weeks.

"Kemar Roofe is not far from returning to training, he has some mobility in that shoulder already which is great. I want the competition as we need a squad that can play 60+ matches, it is unrealistic to expect players can play all of these matches."
