Rangers are braced for a significant offer from a Premier League club for top academy prospect Archie Stevens.

The attacker has already made his first-team debut for the Ibrox side and is thought of as one of the club's brightest talents. The player is part of the B team squad.

The 18-year-old is an England youth international and was last year part of their squad at the U17s World Cup finals.

The Daily Record states that Brighton is the club looking to land him.

They report that the Seagulls will table a six-figure offer to Rangers. They want to sign him before the end of the January transfer window.

Rangers signed Stevens from Wimbledon in 2022 as they fended off stiff competition for the right winger.

So, if they were to part with the talented youngster, they will look to make a tidy profit on their outlay and will be keen to ensure there are future add-ons included in the agreement.

Meanwhile, Rangers are closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian full-back Jefte from Fluminense.

Philippe Clement's side have agreed a deal for the 20-year-old, but a deal is now hinging on whether APOEL Nicosia give the green light as he is currently on loan at the Cyprian outfit.

It is understood Jefte has agreed terms at Ibrox until the summer of 2027.

Clement has been on the hunt for a new left-back with current first choice Borna Barisic out of contract come the end of the season.

Turkish youngster Ridvan Yilmaz has featured more recently with Barisic out injured, but he has been constantly linked with a move away from Glasgow this transfer window.

A deal for Jefte could open the door for Yilmaz to depart the club in the final week of the January window.
